PoppyLove and war. Two words that should have little association, but to me the two go hand in hand. Both are a tragedy. They rip you open and spit you out. The war killed my husband, Connor, shattered my will to live, and took my best friend. Brandon may not have physically died in that war, but his soul did. And now we’re left to pick up the wreckage. Expected to move on when all that is left is the ruins of a life we once had.
War. It took everything from me, even myself. When you’re only able to exist, death seems like a blessing. Pain…a welcome distraction. I ran from everything associated with my past, and then she found me, fighting, drowning myself in whisky, trying to forget. She reminds me of Connor, of what I’ve lost—what we’ve lost. In the midst of destruction, she’s a salvation I don’t deserve.
I shouldn’t love him.
I shouldn’t love her.
Love is a war we never should have fought.

Be still my heart this story is pure enchantment…
Captivating you powerless for more. A love story so profound its soul rattling. Your are left trembling in a stupor but with a heart full of warmth & glee. Do not forget the tissues, the water works begin on page two.
Clenching your tissue in the grips of your hands as you can practically no longer read the tears are waterfalls down your cheeks. It’s such a romantic but gut wrenching tail of true star crossed lovers as they battle their demons for love & the fate their lives have been surrounded by since young children.
Be prepared before you even open the book; silence your phone, set aside the time to begin a story that has you fully immersed, you are so captivated you can’t function without more. You’re nights are sleepless as this story emanates your thoughts.
This book was a drug to me, nothing existed until I could read more- completely capturing me in, I needed more of my fix of this gravitating romance tale with their unconditional love, overpowering emotions, each word written expressed in such a powerful manner your felt every profound moment. This book was no longer a choice for me it became my survival.
Thank heavens this is a series, there will be more otherwise I’d be left very indifferent on the ending. I would say ‘what a tragic way to end a love story of their magnitude’- instead you are left with hope. Possibly more for her then just this unexpected heart wrenching ending. Knowing she is courageous and powerful. But massively stronger to have been loved unconditionally and now guided in life with those angels on her continued journey. -read by French Sparkle with Pop Fizz Clink Read
Because sometimes characters need to be flawed.P.S. Stevie’s greatest fear is the impending zombie apocalypse. Think about it: swarming armies of decaying, oozing corpses stumbling around with clicking teeth, trying to eat your face. Nothing about that is good. NOTHING!
Lauren Lovell is an indie author from England. She suffers from a total lack of brain to mouth filter and is the friend you have to explain before you introduce her to anyone, and apologise for afterwards.
